Design of adaptive wireless video and data transmission
Lorenc, Tomáš ; Nykodým, Jiří (oponent) ; Götthans, Tomáš (vedoucí práce)
The aim of this thesis is to build a device that will be able to establish a wireless transmission of a real-time video stream and send the video to a computer where it will be displayed. The device is powered by the NVIDIA Jetson Nano and video is streamed wirelessly through a WiFi interface. In theoretical part described the problem of video transmission and video compression. The used codecs are h264, h265, and VP8. A subjective test to find the minimum acceptable value of video quality was performed. Measurements have been made to find the best codec for real-time video streaming. Measurements were also performed in real conditions. In conclusion, the results of the measurements and the selection of the best codec for real-time video streaming are commented.
Comparsion Of VP9 And H265 Encoding Standards
Fendrich, Vítězslav
This paper deals with a comparison of the latest VP9 and H.265 video compression standards by objective and subjective metrics. For this purpose, four short video sequences in Ultra High Definition (UHD) resolution and with various features are used. Quality of the compressed video sequences is evaluated by well-known objective video quality metrics and results are verified by subjective tests. Results revealed different efficiency of VP9 and H.265 encoders for various video contents.
On The Performance Of Objective Video Quality Metrics For Uhd Videos
Kufa, Jan
This paper deals with the performance evaluation of different objective metrics, used for the assessment of Ultra HD (UHD) video quality. Video sequences are compressed by HEVC video encoder. Objective scores are compared to each other and verified by scores from subjective tests. Such a comparison is completed by a simple correlation analysis. Differences between the objective scores obtained from the metrics implemented in the HEVC encoder and independent tool are explored in the second part of this paper. The PSNR metric is considered in this case.
